LONGVIEW, Washington (From The Daily News) -- KapStone was the site of another smoldering fire early Tuesday morning, but it was much smaller than last week's fire in Machine 10, according to Longview Fire.
Crews from Longview Fire and Cowlitz 2 Fire & Rescue responded to a 7 a.m. call at the Longview paper mill. By the time engines arrived, KapStone's emergency responders already had put out the smoldering fire with the company's own equipment, said Blake Tomlinson, battalion chief with Longview Fire.
