Answer to this week's riddle

Travis Hale

Again, the riddle:

In 1996 a short, fat man robbed two Pittsburgh banks with no disguise in broad daylight. A local news station showed security tapes resulting in a tip which led to the man's arrest. An odd sort of urban myth led to the (rather ignorant) criminal's capture. Why did the criminal think he was invisible?

The Answer:

When McArthur Wheeler was arrested, he muttered "But I wore the juice, …". Apparently, he was under the deeply misguided impression that rubbing one’s face with lemon juice rendered it invisible to video cameras. Source: http://opinionator.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/06/20/the-anosognosics-dilemma-1/
