Buckeye Corrugated acquires Drake Container

AKRON, Ohio -- Buckeye Corrugated Inc. (BCI), based out of Akron, Ohio, announced that it has acquired Drake Alliance Corporation (known as Drake Container) located in Houston, Texas.

Drake, started in 1969, was previously owned by John Carrico and Dave Gaidousek. Since its inception, Drake has been regarded as one of the leading independent sheet plants in Texas, providing exceptional service and products to its customers.

In a news release, BCI President and CEO Doug Bosnik said, "The associates at Drake have built a solid business with an excellent market reputation that we felt would fit nicely with our family of companies. Drake will continue to operate as an independent sheet plant under our decentralized operating structure, where we expect that they will continue to grow and prosper in their regional market."

BCI is a designer and manufacturer of corrugated packaging and displays.
