Cenveo will close Northwest Portland plant, lay off 91

PORTLAND, Oregon (From OregonLive.com) -- Cenveo plans to close its Northwest Portland facility and lay off the 91 people who work there.

The Connecticut company has operations all over the country, including an envelope manufacturing facility in Clackamas. In a letter to Oregon labor officials, Cenveo said the Portland site on Northwest Wilson street will close by March 31.

Cenveo's Portland office referred questions to its corporate headquarters in Connecticut, which did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Cenveo reported $1.7 billion in revenue in 2015, its last full year, down slightly from 2014. Sales were down modestly in the first nine months in 2016, but the company was profitable through the first three quarters. Cenveo reported an annual loss in each of the prior five years.
