Overworked, part 1

Hi Jim

I agree 1000% that people do not know how well off today relative to their fathers with respect to workload.

We could both related multiple comparable sets of data.  I have often done so to whiners, and am usually disappointed at how little impact it has.  The challenge is to change their attitude to life.  Not easy.

One detail form an engineer who lives with numbers.  Instead of comparing $8/week with Morgan's $60,000/year, show both numbers in $/year.   I am repeatedly amazed at how few people will bother to multiply 8 by 52 in their heads to visualise the difference between your dad's earnings and Morgan's expenditure.

Now I better get to dealing with my over worked, stressful existence (I just received Don's reminder about the imminent deadline for my column).  What stress!!!!!  Gee life is so rough!!!!

All the best in helping  your readers feel less hassled at work.
