Sappi North America Announces Somerset 9pt Gloss

BOSTON -- Sappi North America has announced the addition of Somerset 9 point (9pt) Gloss to its Somerset product line. The new line, made at its Somerset mill, will offer an eight percent yield advantage over competitive 9pt grades and increased cost savings for customers.

Through continued investment and innovation, Sappi now offers some of the lightest basis weights in the business for 7 and 9pt without sacrificing surface quality. For over 30 years, the Somerset Mill has produced products with superior stiffness, press runnability, and consistency. Another high-performance attribute is the minimum basis weight variability due to the mill's superior on-line process. With these factors combined, Somerset paper is engineered for the long run.

"We're excited to launch this performance product line at a time when brands are looking for efficient and effective ways to communicate their messages through print, at a lower cost," said Rick Skoglund, Vice President, Coated Business, Sappi North America. "Somerset 9pt Gloss is the ideal solution for a print catalog, direct mail piece or other marketing project that could benefit from the strength, consistency and vibrancy that all our Somerset products offer. We believe the yield advantage of the new product will allow our customers to continue making an impact with print at a lower cost."
