Talking about the pulp and paper industry in social settings

Staff

In my column last week, we posed, “When you are out in a social setting, how often do you bring up the pulp and paper industry?"

55.6 percent responded, "Once out of every three or four opportunities," and 44.4 percent answered "Half of the time."

We then asked, "From your own experience, would you say the general public..."

66.7 percent responded, "Is clueless about the pulp and paper industry," 22.2 percent answered, "Doesn't care anything about pulp and paper manufacturing," while the remaining 11.1 percent said, "Has some idea of how pulp and paper is made."
