Great article, Jim. It brought back to mind Joel Arthur Barker’s musings in “Paradigm Pioneers” where he pointed out that, in instances of breakthroughs in discoveries that they come from people outside of the mainstream of the area effected; ie. People outside of the paper industry will bring forth the majority of paradigm-shifting discoveries that effect the paper industry. 

Time to re-read that book!?
