WestRock to close facility in South Carolina

DILLON COUNTY, South Carolina (From WBTW) - A WestRock facility located in Dillon County, South Carolina will cease operations at the end of November, according to corporate officials.

WestRock Director of Corporate Communications Chris Augustine says the facility's closure will impact about 100 employees. Employees were notified of the decision on Tuesday.

Eric Kozmic, GE Power, will report on operating multiple production sites from one location in the waste water treatment industry at the 7th Annual Light Green Machine Institute Conference (16 - 18 Oct 16 in Raleigh, NC)

The facility, itself, is expected to close by December 31. Augustine said high fixed operating costs at the Latta facility made it difficult to make products that were competitive in cost.

According to its website, WestRock specializes in paper and packaging products. It has more than 250 facilities worldwide.
