The European Commission has approved the acquisition of joint control of Novolex Holdings and Pactiv Evergreen by Apollo Capital Management, all three based in the United States, and Canada Pension Plan Investment Board ('CPP Investments'), based in Canada.

The transaction mainly concerns the market for the manufacture of paper and plastic consumer packaging.

The Commission concluded that the notified transaction would not raise competition concerns, given the companies' limited post-transaction market positions.
