The decision affects hundreds of American beers, wines, spirits, and refreshment beverages, which the BC Liquor Distribution Branch will also stop purchasing. Last week, BC had already removed liquor from U.S. "red states" in a targeted response. Eby stated that this expanded action reflects growing concerns among British Columbians and aims to counter ongoing threats to key Canadian industries.

He encouraged consumers to explore domestic alternatives, highlighting award-winning wines from the Okanagan Valley, locally produced spirits, and popular Canadian craft beers. Eby confirmed plans to introduce legislation addressing these economic threats, emphasizing that Canada would resist any attempts to undermine its sovereignty.
