Construction still pending at Kimberly-Clark property in Warren, Ohio

WARREN, Ohio (From news reports) -- In 2023 the Kimberly-Clark Corporation purchased 559 acres of a former steel property on Pine Avenue in Warren.

When the company announced the purchase in December 2023, a spokesperson for the company said they were meeting with their board of directors to get their final plan for the facility approved. The meeting was supposed to happen in 2024.

At this time it is still unclear if that meeting happened or if the company has any further plans in place.

According to an EPA filing , there have been no new construction or earth moving activities on the property.

The director of the Western Reserve Port Authority, Anthony Trevena, said in a statement that they "have seen site work taking place including the installation of a perimeter fence and dynamic compaction." Dynamic compaction is a technique used to compact the soil.

For the past two months, local media has been trying to get answers from the company to check the status of the project.

On Tuesday a switchboard operator for the company said there was not a project number for the planned facility.

The port authority says they are waiting for any future announcements from the company.
