Dunapack Packaging acquiring Turkey-based Cami Ambalaj Sanayi

The Dunapack Packaging Division, through Mosburger GmbH, says it has signed an agreement to purchase the corrugated business of Turkish packaging producer Camiş Ambalaj Sanayi A.Ş.

The Eskişehir based corrugated packaging plant of Camiş Ambalaj Sanayi A.Ş is located 280 km south-east of Istanbul with an annual sales volume of approx. 160 million m2 of corrugated packaging (80,000 tons). The company is specialized in shelf-ready, transportation- and storage packaging.

Cord Prinzhorn, CEO of family-owned Prinzhorn Group, said: "This transaction is a unique opportunity for Dunapack to further enhance our position in the supply chain with environmentally friendly packaging and to provide our clients with the best service possible. After the acquisition of Dentaş Ambalaj in 2013 it also shows our strong commitment to this dynamic and growing market in Turkey."

With the acquisition of this plant, Dunapack will operate four box plants in Turkey and will be represented in 10 countries, with 18 corrugated plants. Dunapack will increase its overall sales volume to 1.8 billion m2 (900,000 tons) of corrugated packaging, which is an important step to reach the company's strategic goal of doubling its production within the next years.

The Prinzhorn Group Dunapack Packaging is part of Prinzhorn Group. Prinzhorn Group employs 6,000 people in 15 countries and ranks among the European market leaders in the recycling, paper and packaging industry.
