Fire at Twin Rivers Paper

MADAWASKA, Maine (From news reports) -- Heading west on Highway 5 through Little Falls was cut off for a while Saturday afternoon, Jan. 11, after the road was closed due to reports of smoke at the Twin Rivers mill. The alarm was raised at 2:59 pm by employees that were working at the facility at the time.

Twin Rivers Paper creates eco-friendly and sustainable specialty packaging, technical, label and publishing papers for the financial, pharmaceutical and consumer markets.

A power outage in the area that occurred later in the afternoon was not related to the incident at Twin Rivers.

Units from Little Falls and Herkimer responded to the scene and the cause of the incident is under investigation.
