Fire put out at Ahlstrom-Munksjo Kaukauna paper mill

KAUKAUNA, Wis. (From news reports) -- Kaukauna firefighters battled a coal fire at the Ahlstrom-Munksjo Thilmany facility early Thursday morning.
At 4:45 a.m., the department was called to the facility.
Firefighters found a coal hopper with about 40 tons of coal on fire, according to the department.
Crews used direct hose-lines to put out the fire.
There was no damage to the facility and no injuries.
The loss was limited to the coal, which is worth about $3,000.
The facility remained in operation during the fire.
