Firefighter sent to hospital during Arauco explosion to be released

CRAWFORD COUNTY, Mich., (From news reports) -- A firefighter who was taken to the hospital while battling an explosion at the Arauco plant in Crawford County is expected to be released from the hospital.

The firefighter is part of the Beaver Creek Fire Department.

The department said he was taken to the hospital because of exertion.

Thursday's fire at the particleboard plant is believed to have started in the dryer which led to an explosion.

No Arauco employees were hurt in the incident.
