Green Bay Packaging acquires Interstate Packaging

WISCONSIN (From news reports) -- Green Bay Packaging Inc. this week announced it has acquired Interstate Packaging Corp. in Albert Lea. The acquisition was effective Thursday.

According to a press release, Interstate Packaging Corp. has an excellent reputation in the marketplace for their experience and ingenuity of manufacturing innovative, high-quality corrugated products. Their Midwest roots provide the team of employees with a strong work ethic, a commitment to quality solutions and customer satisfaction. Interstate Packaging's facility in Albert Lea, provides service to south-central Minnesota, southwest Wisconsin, Iowa and eastern South Dakota.

"The acquisition of Interstate Packaging is a great fit for Green Bay Packaging. This acquisition gives us the opportunity to grow our business in Minnesota and Iowa," said Will Kress, chairman and CEO of Green Bay Packaging. Established in 1933, Green Bay Packaging Inc. is a family-owned, vertically integrated manufacturing company consisting of corrugated container plants, a folding cartons facility, recycled and virgin linerboard mills, pressure-sensitive label roll stock plants, specialty converting operations, timberlands and a sawmill facility. Headquartered in Green Bay, Wisconsin, Green Bay Packaging Inc. is dedicated to innovative development of its products and forestry resources, with a focus on safety, sustainability, quality and continuous improvement throughout its 37 facilities in 16 states, according to the release.

Under the current leadership, Interstate Packaging Corp. has been manufacturing custom corrugated packaging since 2009. The company provides custom corrugated boxes, custom printed cartons and oversized custom boxes, operating a 120,000-square-feet manufacturing facility in Albert Lea.
