Lecta Moves Forward in its Path to Decarbonization

Lecta is carrying out an ambitious plan to improve energy efficiency in its plants, which will result in a significant reduction in energy consumption and therefore a reduction in emissions.

Aligned with its ESG strategy, Lecta has decided to calculate its Organizational Carbon Footprint (OCF) and Product Carbon Footprtint (PCF), by proposing a high-level analysis of the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions resulting from its activity.

The work to calculate GHG emissions was finalized in 2022 and is the baseline for target setting in the whole group from 2023, with a commitment of a 45% carbon footprint reduction of Scope 1 & 2 and a 35% reduction of Scope 3 until 2030 based on SBTi (Science Based Targets Initiative) methodology.

Based on the carbon footprint calculation, targeted investment for an ambitious decarbonization and energy efficiency program is in place, with a plan to reduce emissions by 30% versus 2021 already in 2025.

At Lecta we are working toward an energy transition and net zero emissions to contribute to creating a more sustainable world.

Find out more about Lecta's reduction in GHG emissions in its 2022 Sustainability Report.
