Longtime papermaker Albert Linn passes away at 77

Longtime papermaker Albert Linn passed away June 8 in Concord, Virginia. He was 77.

Following is Mr. Linn's obituary:

ALBERT LINN OBITUARY

Albert Hackett Linn Jr.

Albert Hackett Linn Jr., 77, of Concord, went to be with his Lord and Savior on June 8, 2022, surrounded by his family.

He was born on February 22, 1945, in Eufaula, Ala., the son of the late Albert Hackett Linn Sr. and Alphress Eubanks Linn.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 54 years, Suzanne; and children, Albert Hackett Linn, III, and wife, Angie, of Knoxville, Tenn., Andrew Haisten Linn and wife, Terri, of Lynchburg, and Amanda Linn Bailey and husband, Damien, of Appomattox. His greatest joy and proudest achievement was being "Papa" to his grandchildren, Allison Burris (Charlie), Audrey Linn, Amy Lee (Chris), Haisten Linn, Judson Linn, Austin Linn, Saige Bailey, and Gus Bailey; two loving sisters, Jackie Glover (Lamar) of Abbeville, Ala., and Carol Bryan (George) of Headland, Ala.; sister-in-law, Janelle Shelley of Headland, Ala.; brother-in-law, Stanley Sanders (Bennie) of Jacksonville, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews.

Albert served in the Alabama National Guard and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He spent his career in the pulp and paper industry as a chemical engineer and owned a successful business for 25 years. Albert was passionate about gardening and tending to his beautiful flower beds. He loved cooking and planning meals for his family on holidays and Sunday evenings. Albert also had a special bond with animals of all kinds, from the wildlife he affectionately called his "critters", to all the dogs and cats who claimed him as their favorite. His big personality, sense of humor, and generous servant heart will be deeply missed by all but carried on in spirit through his friends and family.

A celebration of life will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, June 11, 2022, at Robinson Funeral Home with Pastor Chad Harris and Pastor George Bryan officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery, Concord, Va.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Friday, June 10, 2022, at Robinson Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
