JAPAN (News release) -- Nippon Paper Industries Co., Ltd. (President: Toru Nozawa) has announced a price increase for its packaging paper (bleached kraft paper, semi-bleached kraft paper, etc.) in Japan. Prices will increase 15% or more for shipments on and after the 1^st of December 2022.

Despite our productivity and cost-cutting initiatives, we are not able to continue to absorb this combination of cost pressures due to the rapid drop in the exchange rate as well as the costs of raw materials, energy and transportation, which continue to be high and volatile.
