No injuries after fire at Kruger plant in Gatineau

MONTRÉAL (News release) -- There are no injuries reported after a fire at the Kruger paper mill in Gatineau.

The Service de sécurité incendie de Gatineaus (SSIG) responded to the mill in the late afternoon on Tuesday, Feb. 7.

Crews arrived to find a working fire that was partially under control because of the sprinkler system in the mill.

Firefighters fully extinguished the fire, which was under control shortly after 6 p.m.

Mill operations were temporarily paused while fire crews worked to put out the fire.

There is no word on what caused the fire or the extent of the damage.
