No injuries after fire in paper compactor machine at R.R. Donnelley in St. Charles, Illinois
ST. CHARLES, Illinois (From news reports) - The St. Charles Fire Department was able to extinguish a fire in a paper compactor at R.R. Donnelley on Monday night, Aug. 24.

According to a news release, firefighters were able to contain the fire to the compactor machine at R.R. Donnelley. The building was checked for fire, and the smoke was ventilated before employees were able to return to work by 10 p.m.

The fire loss is estimated at $1,000 and the business is still operating at that facility. One employee received medical evaluation at the scene and there were no firefighter injuries during the incident.

The St. Charles Fire Department was assisted at the scene by the Geneva, Batavia and West Chicago Fire Departments.
