The Paper Science & Engineering Foundation at Miami University was founded in 1960 through the donations of several local paper mills and corporations who wanted to ensure the education of future paper engineers.
Even in a digital world, the paper industry is thriving because paper products continue to be an essential part of our daily lives. As a result, career options are booming for paper science engineers.
Paperitalo Publications was able to catch up with Elaina Gilman, a senior in the program. Miss Gilman is from Enfield, Maine and graduated from Penobscot Valley High School in 2015 as valedictorian. We asked her a few questions about her experiences at UMaine.
