Shandong Jintianhe Paper integrates Valmet's automation and quality control for food-grade packaging in China

Shandong Jintianhe Paper plans to enhance its food-grade packaging materials production by integrating Valmet's automation and quality control solutions. The company will implement Valmet's DNA Distributed Control System (DCS), IQ Quality Control System (QCS), Machine Vision, and Coat Weight Profiler to optimize its folding boxboard (FBB) board machine. The order was recorded in Valmet's fourth-quarter 2024 orders, with delivery set for the second quarter of 2025.

The new automation systems will improve digitalization and process intelligence, ensuring stable production and consistent product quality. Xu Zhenli, Chairman of Shandong Jintianhe Paper, stated that the company aims to develop high-end coated white cardboard for food packaging, relying on Valmet's expertise in automation and process optimization.

Valmet's delivery includes scanners, an IQ Dryness measurement system, single-side moisture measurement, over 10,000 IO points in the DCS, a Condition Monitoring System, a Web Inspection System, a Web Monitoring System, and a Coat Weight Profiler. Richard Sui, Sales Manager at Valmet, confirmed that an experienced project team will oversee the installation and implementation.

Shandong Jintianhe Paper, a subsidiary of Shandong Tianhe Paper, was founded in 2022. Its parent company, established in 1978, operates as a pulp-paper integrated enterprise with more than 1,500 employees.
