Stora Enso seeks permission for wind farm outside Gävle | Stora Enso, energy,

The forest industry company Stora Enso has initiated the permit process for a wind farm in Gävle municipality, according to a press release.

The Gävle Norra wind farm is intended to accommodate a maximum of 12 wind turbines, each with an expected installed capacity of approximately 10 megawatts. The aim is to increase energy supply from renewable energy sources.

"For Sweden to have a competitive industry in the future and for us to succeed in the green transition, all forecasts say that more fossil-free electricity will be needed ... It feels very positive if we can contribute to the green transition also with energy production on our own land, which is an important part of our business development," says Per Lyrvall, Sweden Manager of Stora Enso.

The company is planning to hold a consultation meeting with the public and stakeholders on February 12-13.
