The Paper and Packaging Board Seeks Nominations for 2026 Board

WASHINGTON, DC - The Paper and Packaging Board (P+PB) is seeking nominees to serve on its board of directors for a 3-year term that begins on January 1, 2026. Nominations are due May 16, 2025.

The Board is seeking two experienced industry members from the South region who can bring deep industry knowledge and insights to the board's discussion and represent a range of product sectors including containerboard, paperboard, kraft and printing, writing paper and office paper.

The Board of Directors comprises representation from eight companies: four companies representing the South, three companies representing the Rest of the U.S. and one Importer.

The definition of the South is a company with operations in any of these states: Alabama, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia or West Virginia.

In addition to geographical representation, the selection criteria for board members includes product sector, leadership positions, company size and sustainability commitments.

Only companies that pay into the Paper and Packaging Board program-those that manufacture or import 100,000 short tons or more of paper and/or paper-based packaging-can be nominated. In addition, only one person per company can serve on the board at any time.

All nominations are submitted to USDA and the Secretary of Agriculture appoints new board members by the end of 2024.

Nomination form and FAQ are on the organization's website: paperandpackaging.org.

For additional information, contact the Paper and Packaging Board at (703) 935-8590 or email nominations@paperandpackaging.org. Companies may also contact Samantha Mareno, USDA Marketing Specialist, at (720) 827-4907 or email samantha.mareno@usada.gov for additional information.
