Valmet delivers a complete Valmet IQ Quality Management System package to a leading pressure-sensitive laminate producer in North America

Valmet has received an order for a complete Valmet IQ Quality Management System package from one of North America's largest pressure-sensitive laminate producers. It will be delivered to the customer's Midwest facility and include Valmet IQ Moisturizers for moisture and curl control, Valmet IQ Silicone measurement, Valmet IQ Reflective Spectrometer measurement for adhesive, two Valmet IQ Single Sided Scanner S units, and closed-loop moisture MD/CD control and MD Silicone control.

The order is included in Valmet's orders received for the first quarter of 2025. The value of the order will not be disclosed. The delivery is scheduled for August 2025.

"Valmet is pleased to establish a relationship with one of North America's most technologically advanced self-adhesive laminate producers. This delivery underlines the industry's commitment to consuming fewer raw materials and using them more efficiently while maintaining perfect quality. Our goal is to help the customer achieve the full potential of their machine with minimal CO2 footprint. Valmet is not just a device supplier - we deliver solutions that last for decades," says David Maddux, Corrugated Board and Paper Converting Automation Sales Manager, North America, Automation Systems, Valmet.

Delivery's technical information

The delivery will offer precise silicone measurement and control to maintain consistent coat weight and stabilize production, leading to raw material savings. The Valmet IQ Spectrometer will measure adhesive coat weight from the whole near-infrared spectrum without adherence to base material and adhesive recipe changes.

The Valmet IQ Moisturizer will increase the product's final moisture, maintain it even during base material changes, and correct curling tendency. It is a CO2-free solution without the need for steam boilers or additives. Closed-loop controls will increase the level of automation, reducing operators' workload with closed-loop moisture MD/CD and MD silicone controls.
