Worker ID'd In Fatal Loading Dock Accident at Menasha Facility, Company Assisting Police

ALSIP, IL (From news reports) -- A worker who was fatally struck by a truck earlier this week at an Alsip trucking company has been identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner as 32-year-old Falah Hadi.

Hadi was guiding a semi-trailer into the loading dock Tuesday morning, Sept. 3, at Menasha Packaging Company, 11601 Central Ave., Alsip. The man became caught between a parked truck as the semi-trailer was backing up, Chief Jay Miller, of the Alsip Police Department said.

The man was transported to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he died of his injuries later in the afternoon.

A spokesperson for Neenah, WI-based Menasha Corp. called the accident a "terrible tragedy."

"We are assisting the authorities. We've been interviewed by the Alsip Police Department,"
said Kristine Pavletich, director of corporate communications for Menasha Corp. "It is difficult to hear about these situations. Our hearts and thoughts and prayers go out to his family."

Pavletich said that the 32-year-old man was not an employee of Menasha. The company works with several trucking and distribution contractors. She did not know which contractor employed the worker.

The fatal workplace accident remains under investigation.
